Happy Mother’s Day weekend! Moms, enjoy. Everyone, take care of your mom!
Here’s a list of events going on in the Grand Strand this weekend.
- If you’re a NASCAR fan, you’re in luck. On Friday evening, May 6th, the NASCAR Nationwide series is racing at Darlington Raceway. On Saturday evening, May 7th, the NASCAR Sprint Car series will race in the Showtime Southern 500. For ticket information, click here. Darlington is about 90 – 120 minutes from the Grand Strand and the races are always fantastic! We’ll be there this weekend. 🙂 We never miss it. Just make sure if you attend to bring ear protection for you and your little ones. It’s beyond loud.
- The Myrtle Beach MayFest continues with a free concert of the 282nd US Army Band Jazz Combo will perform on Friday, May 6th at 7:00 PM in downtown Myrtle Beach, between 8th & 9th Ave. N.
- The Rivertown Music & Arts Festival will be held in downtown Conway on Laurel Street from 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM. Art, a craft fair, and food will accompany musical performances ranging from jazz, to gospel, to beach! Headlining the festival are local favorites Sea Cruz at 4:30 PM, Southern Blue at 6:00 PM and Sol Driven Train at 7:30 PM. There is also a classic car show hosted by Chicora Car Club from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Bring a chair. No coolers.
Beginning on Sunday, May 8th and running through Saturday, May 14th, the Coastal Uncorked Food, Wine, and Spirits Festival kicks off. While many of the events are not kid-friendly, there are some amazing tasting, dining, and educational opportunities for the grown-ups. Here’s a link to the Coastal Uncorked list of events.
