First and foremost, happy summer, Horry county students! School is OUT!! I’m wishing you and your family lots of fun enjoying everything the Grand Strand offers us!
- The 60th Annual Sun Fun Festival continues in Myrtle Beach at the Market Common,
Friday, June 3rd through Sunday, June 5th. Click here for a full schedule of events. Saturday will bring us the World’s Largest Convertible Car Show, and a guest appearance by Sophie and Katherine from the TLC show “DC Cupcakes”. I mention it because my daughters and I are absolutely thrilled. We waited for an hour and a half for cupcakes during a recent Washington DC trip and they were delish! We’re excited to meet the women responsible for making them. They will be presenting a custom cupcake sculpture for the event and signing autographs from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. I was able to snag a picture from their Facebook page that shows Katherine working on the sculpture! There will be food vendors, entertainment, activities, wakeboard demonstrations, a NASCAR simulator, and celebrity cars! - The Children’s Museum of South Carolina is hosting a Super Science Saturday on June 4th from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. There will be hands-on exhibits, science stations, and a live reptile show! Admission is $5. For more information, call them at 843-946-9469.
- Programs at the Myrtle Beach State Park this weekend include, “Tales from the Sea”, “Seine-Sational Fun!”, “Paint by Nature”, “Nifty and Nocturnal”, “Feeding Time”, and “Crazy over Crabs”. Click here for a full list of programs, descriptions, and fees.
- Broadway at the Beach is hosting a “Corvettes at the Beach” car show on Saturday, June 4th from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Help 4 Kids/Backpack Buddies and The Center for Women and Children charities.
