It’s been ten years. Can you believe? I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in NYC. I still get chills. And as I was writing a round-up events in the Grand Strand to commemorate this anniversary, I got choked up all over again.
Depending on the age of your child or children, attending one of these memorial events or fundraisers might just seem like a patriotic activity. Some events have music, food, games, and fun. Others are more somber in nature, which may provoke some questions. Questions I will have a difficult time answering. How? Why? Did people die? How many?
Whatever you decide to do this weekend, I hope you take a moment, publicly or privately, to remember. So many innocent lives were lost. So many continue to be lost in the war that resulted from 9/11.
To all of those serving our country and communities, I want to sincerely thank you.
