We all know that the jolly old elf is stationed at every mall and in quite the scene at Bass Pro Shop, but if you’re looking for a unique backdrop for this year’s photos with Santa Claus, there are two cool opportunities this weekend.
On Saturday, December 3, 2011, the Myrtle Beach State Park is hosting Santa at Shelter B3 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Admission to the park is required, bring your own camera, and leashed four-legged family members are welcome. There is no charge for the event, but donations are appreciated. They will go to support the fantastic children’s educational programs throughout the year. I love them and they’re very worthy of the donation.
There will be cookies, cider, and hot chocolate for sale. You can roast marshmallows ($1 for four), do coloring sheets, and enjoy both holiday music and a 20% discount at the pier shop.
Also on Saturday at Booth’s Christmas Tree Farm in Conway, Erin Dietrich Photography will be there from noon to 4 p.m. taking pictures with Santa. There are three package options priced at $20, $25, and $30. For examples of her work you can check out the galleries on her site or her Facebook page. I’m not photography expert, but what I see is gorgeous.
