I love the Inflatable Playground at Broadway at the Beach!

Update, April 2012

They’re back up and running and this year there is a new race car inflatable with a slide.  Wheeee!

Wristbands remain at $8 per child, which are good for entry and re-entry all day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.  During the summer those hours will extend to midnight.

I’ll admit it.  I’m one of those moms that secretly wants a turn in those bounce houses often found at birthday parties, street fairs, and indoor play areas.  No wonder kids can’t resist asking to jump every time they see them.  But then again, maybe it’s a case of “like mother, like daughter” in my family.  They just look like so much fun!

At Broadway at the Beach, just next to Build-a-Bear Workshop, there is a huge playground filled with inflatables for your child’s jumping pleasure.  Entry is $8 for an all-day wristband.  Locals, imagine jumping in the morning, going home to eat lunch and take a nap, then returning in the evening.  Sounds pretty good, right?  Visitors, come early to jump, have lunch, walk around, get ice cream, return to jump some more before returning to your car.

Many of your child’s favorite characters are represented with a Superman, SpongeBob, princess, pirate, and train themed bounce houses.  There are two, large, inflated slides, as well.

In the center of the inflatables are several tables for parents, with big umbrellas.  I sat there for several hours on a particularly hot afternoon and it was quite nice.  And the way the bounce houses are set up, I had an easy view of my children at all times.  When the kids get thirsty, drinks are available on-site for purchase.

For those interested in bringing a group of friends or attending with their organization, there is a group rate available.  The Inflatable Playground also hosts birthday parties.  While they don’t provide anything but the tables and chairs for parents, the length of the party is only limited to the operating hours.  There is only one party held at a time, so parents can bring cake, decorations, and drinks and their guests can spend the afternoon enjoying themselves.

The Inflatable Playground is open from April through Halloween.  Their hours of operation are 10:00 am – midnight.  Children two and under are free.  No children over 12 are admitted to jump.

For more information about the Inflatable Playground, group rates, or birthday parties, you can stop by or call Jack at (843) 808-0868.  This is one attraction in Myrtle Beach that I definitely think is worth the money.  Happy jumping!
