Sleeping Beauty comes alive courtesy of the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre

Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre on Facebook

The Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre, the same group that brings us The Nutcracker each December, will be performing Sleeping Beauty this Sunday, April 22, 2012.  The show will begin at 4 p.m. and is at the Beach Church Auditorium, which is located on George Bishop Parkway, beside the former Freestyle Music Park.

I remember seeing The Nutcracker two years ago and hearing Liz Mata, Artistic Director of the Coastal Youth Ballet Theatre talk about her dream to perform Sleeping Beauty.  I’m so happy it’s come to fruition.  As I’ve said before, when you leave a CYBT performance you’ll be floored at the talent that lives in the children from our community.

You can learn more about CYBT or Sleeping Beauty by checking out their site or connecting with them on Facebook.  They’ve posted many beautiful photos of the preparations being made, including rehearsals, for the show.

For more information, you can call the dance studio at (843) 651-2006.  You can purchase tickets ($20 for adults and $15 for children or seniors) online or at the door.
