If you’re like me, your brain is already on Christmas vacation. Yet I know by the second day my children are going to be fighting and whining, “I’m bored.” (They’re sweet cherubs filled with love, I swear. But even cherubs get to you when they pick at their siblings full-time.) If you’re looking for something to do with your cherubs over the holidays, the Market Common is offering several free and inexpensive fun activities for families that will get you out of the house and off each others’ nerves.
Have you been to elfWORKS yet? Brought to you by the amazing folks at the Children’s Museum of South Carolina, elfWORKS is a workshop set up by Santa’s elves where children can make crafts, do activities, visit with Santa, and much more. Admission is a $5 donation and there are limited hours through December 23, 2012. You can find more information here. You can also like them on Facebook to see many pictures and get the latest updates here.
Another nugget of free fun are the carriage rides being offered from noon until 3 p.m. this Saturday and next, December 15th and 22nd. You can find more details here.
Last, the Market Common is offering free movies for kids. From December 19th through the 22nd, the Polar Express will be shown at Grand 14 Cinema. From December 26th through the 29th How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey will be featured. All shows start at 10 a.m. and $1 popcorn and drinks will be offered. For more information, visit the Market Commons site.
