It’s a holiday week in Myrtle Beach and, as you’d expect, there are tons of activities planned to celebrate!
Wednesday, July 3rd:
Wheels of Destruction at the Myrtle Beach Speedway – The weekly show features drifting, stunts, school bus racing, and, of course fireworks.
Thursday, July 4th:
Like cupcakes? Me too and this one is my favorite event. Croissants Bakery and Bistro is hosting their second annual Cupcake Eating Contest where Dennis Devorick, Carolina Forest Elementary School principal, will defend his title. The event is from 3 to 5 p.m. and there will be cupcakes, face painting, and other entertainment. For more information, check out their Facebook event page.
The Myrtle Beach Speedway is holding a Salute to the Military 100-lap race featuring NASCAR Late Models, Chargers, and mini-stocks. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the main event race begins at 8 p.m. with a massive fireworks display to close out the night. You can get tickets online here. General admission is $15.
For a full list of fireworks in Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Murrells Inlet, check out this post by MyrtleBeach.com. I’m not the biggest fan of the most crowded spots. Instead, I like to hop on a public access spot on the beach with a blanket and just watch from afar.
