It’s been a little quiet around here lately, right? I could tell you that I’ve been super busy but that isn’t exactly the truth. I’ll spare you the gory details, but I’ve been preoccupied with a municipal issue that’s maddening, to say the least. Regardless, I realized yesterday that it was bringing me down. Really, really down. I wasn’t finding the positive in anything. And that’s when I came across this. It’s a plan to celebrate 28 days of thankfulness, leading up to Thanksgiving. For my mental health, and for the people who get to hear from me often, I’m lightening up.
For Day 1, I want to express thankfulness for a blessing. I was walking with my dog the other day, in a deliberate effort to get the heck out of the house and clear my mind. I took in deep breaths and enjoyed the sunshine. I started listing things to be thankful for as my sweet pooch sniffed every other blade of grass. The list was lengthy.
My health, my family’s health, a great job, a husband who always works really, really hard, children who try really, really, hard, a loving relationship with so many people, my friends, financial stability, my faith, my silly dog, beautiful weather, the opportunity to enjoy the beach any time I want, good books
If you’ve got something you’re particularly thankful for, share it below!
