Quick update, 2:17 p.m.
Unfortunately the Broadway at the Beach Christmas tree lighting has been postponed due to inclement weather. It is now scheduled for next Saturday, December 7th, at 6 p.m.

I feel like I’m going in every direction this weekend because there are so many great things to do! Here are a few of my favorites.
The Myrtle Beach Speedway is hosting a full weekend of racing that’s set to start in just a few minutes and run through tonight. It’s the Myrtle Beach 400 and the racing runs clear through about 5 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. The top prize in the tomorrow’s final race is $15,000. Drivers from all over come to participate. You can check out the full schedule here. Bonus – this is your one opportunity a year to watch racing locally without sweating your petunia off.
The Broadway at the Beach Kid’s Club is hosting members at Ripley’s Aquarium today, free of charge! Here’s a link to an article I wrote about it earlier in the week. Go enjoy their Festival of Trees without spending a penny!
Also at Broadway is their annual lighting of the Christmas tree. It begins at 6 p.m. and I got some inside information about the performance by the kids from the Carolina Forest Performing Arts Academy. Evidently it’s a full production with singing and dancing that is sure to put you in the pre-mature holiday spirit! Seating is limited and because it’s pretty warm today, I’ll bet there will be tons of people at this…including me. 🙂 I was advised to bring my own chair. The performance is at 6 p.m., the tree will be lit at 7 p.m., and there will be fireworks at 8 p.m. Click here for more info.
Last, tomorrow at the Children’s Museum of South Carolina, your entire family can get in for just $10 and paint a ceiling tile. It’s the coolest thing ever. You and your literally paint a tile that will be positioned on their ceiling. We’ve got one and my children love looking at it! This event is from noon to 5 p.m  They will also be collecting toiletries for donation. Here’s a link to the Facebook event page.
If you know of other activities going on this weekend, feel free to share them in the comments!
