It’s almost 2014 and if you’re like me and 92% of the general population, you’re aiming to get a little healthier during the next 12 months. I can think of excuses to skip exercises from here to the moon. It’s too hot. It’s too cold. I’m tired. I’m hungry. I’m awake. Seriously, I could go on and on. One of the major barriers for me is cost. I’ve never joined a gym because I didn’t want to commit to a full year of monthly payments. I’m also not the most creative gal. Planning a workout and schedule feels daunting and boring to me. Am I painting a clear picture here? Any commitment I make to fitness has to be inexpensive, easy (not the workout, but the plan), and interesting.
The other day I got an email from Angela at Crossfit Asperitas in Carolina Forest. She piqued my interest. I’ve got her permission to copy her words because I’m not sure I could have said them better.
“Our goal is to bring functional fitness to the community. I think one of the most common misconceptions about Crossfit is that you have to be super athletic or fit to even start Crossfit but this couldn’t be further from the truth. Crossfit is for all ages even kids and grandparents and for people at all fitness levels. Every movement is scaleable and the coaches work with our members to help them meet their individual goals. Also the best part is Crossfit is FUN. The workouts are hard but their fast and already designed for you, you just show up ready to work! It’s also a wonderful community of individuals from all walks of life from stay-at-home moms to teachers to public safety workers to college students! It’s a great place to make life long friends!”
It sounds pretty good, right? But here’s where it gets even better. Right now CrossFit Asperitas is offering a Groupon for 50% off a monthly membership. It’s a smart way to try it out at a reasonable cost. Here is a link.
For more information contact Mike Noreck. He handles the coaching and day-to-day operations. His number is 843 222-7003.
Here’s to a healthier 2014!
