The new Common Core standards in our public schools have been a hot topic of discussion and debate for months now, but do you feel like you don’t have a firm grasp on what exactly is changing and what that means for your child? I’m definitely in that category and I’m thrilled to share an event that will shed light on the topic.
On Wednesday, April 9th, Coastal Carolina University’s Spadoni College of Education’s Consortium for Educational Research and Evaluation will host a program called, “Common Core Standards: Facts and Myths”. It will be in Wheelwright Auditorium from 6-8 p.m. According to this Sun News article, the purpose of the program “is to address issues and perspectives about the development, intent, content and implementation of the standards.”
