If your travel plans are taking you to Myrtle Beach, you’re heading to the best beach in the continental US. In fact, Travel Channel ranks this southern getaway as the #2 beach in the entire US. The fact that only one Hawaiian beach outranks Myrtle Beach in the “awesomeness factor” is amazing.
Myrtle Beach has rightly earned its reputation for being one of the most visited beaches. This haven is so much more than sand and sun, as fantastic as those are. When the weather gets too hot or you just need another kind of fun, there are a million things for you to do. Take the kids for a ride on the SkyWheel or cool down at Myrtle Waves Water Park.
If you need shopping therapy, the area boasts some of the best places – Tanger Outlets, Coastal Grand Mall, and the Market Common. While you grab some great deals, the men can hit the open sea in pursuit of catching a big ‘un. Both North Myrtle Beach Fishing Charters and Low Country Fishing Charters offer deep-sea fishing excursions, or a quieter day in the sound.
At the end of the day, Myrtle Beach is still alive and buzzing. Head over to the Carolina Opry or Alabama Theatre for live music, drama, comedy, and plays. The Bowery is also a great place to kick up some dust and dance a jig under the stars.
