Update 1/10/15 – My family and I had a chance to visit the ice rink and it was FUN! While it’s small, it’s a great value.
I’ve learned that they’ll be open until February 6th. Don’t miss out! I’m hopeful this will lead to even bigger skating venues in the Grand Strand. Check out Grand Strand Ice Management for more information.
I’ve got mixed feelings about this. Starting on November 14th, you’ll have the opportunity to ice skate right here in the Grand Strand!
One part of me is like, “Yippeee! That’ll be so fun!” I’ve got tons of moves inspired by the last Winter Olympics I’m dying to try. Kidding. I’ve only skated a few times in my life and it’s been a blast! I’m not good at it, but I can’t wait to take the kids.
The other part of me doesn’t have a deep desire to visit my local emergency room staff. Can I get an amen? I’m thinking we’ll still take the risk.
The temporary skating rink will be at the Myrtle Beach Mall (on Highway 17 just south of Barefoot Landing). It’s $10 for two hours of skating. That price includes skate rental. For more information, check out this WBTW news story.
