Mini Maker Faire this weekend at Barnes & Noble

Do you have a STEM kid? One who loves taking things apart, figuring out how they work, and rebuilding? Barnes & Noble is holding a Mini Maker Faire this Saturday from 11 AM to 5 PM and Sunday from noon to 5 PM, where kids can experience virtual reality, robotics, coding, and more!

This is perfect for the young one interested in science, technology, engineering, and math. This will be a cool opportunity for inquiring minds to get their hands on neat toys!

American Girl’s Truly Talented You event at Barnes & Noble on Saturday

This house holds more American Girl dolls and accessories than I’d care to divulge. You could say this is an event that’s up our alley.

On Saturday, March 15th, Barnes & Noble at the Market Common is hosting a free American Girl Truly Talented You event for girls ages 8-12. It begins at 11 a.m, and according to the event page, it will feature puzzles, activities, and crafts inspired by Isabelle, the Girl of the Year.

We’ve attended similar events at this location and I have some advice.

1. Arrive mucho early. They tend to draw a large crowd and it’s nice to have a place to sit.

2. Most attendees bring their American Girls with them. Do yourself a favor and take a picture of your daughter’s doll so that she gets back in the car wearing all of the same pieces she had on when she entered the building. We lost hair accessories last time. 🙂

Meet local children’s author Tammy Appleton this weekend!
